It depends on your food and pack style. Thimonnier M-series form-fill-seal machines make pillow pouches and sachets for dairy liquids, sauces and portion packs. THD machines fill pre-made stand-up doypacks for retail sauces, soups and purees. SF spout machines fill and cap squeezable spouted pouches, and the semi-automatic SF10 suits smaller batches. Proquip Solutions is the authorised New Zealand distributor for Thimonnier.
Honey is thick and sticky, so it needs a filler built for viscous products and clean, drip-free sealing. Honey is often packed in single-serve sachets for hospitality and travel, or in squeezable spouted pouches for retail, and may be gently warmed to help it flow. Thimonnier machines handle viscous products such as honey across sachets, pillow pouches and spouted pouches.

Yes. Milk, cream and other dairy liquids can be packed in pillow pouches, which use far less packaging than cartons or bottles. A 1 litre pouch made from recyclable polyethylene film uses around 7 grams of plastic, and takes up less storage space. Thimonnier pillow pouch machines pack from 30 ml to 5 litres, with ultra-clean, extended shelf life (ESL) and aseptic versions for dairy.

Yes. Hot filling is common for soups, sauces and purees, because filling the product hot helps with food safety and shelf life. It needs pouches and seals that can handle the temperature, and a filler designed for hot product. Thimonnier doypack filling machines are available with hot filling. See the Thimonnier THD800.

Yes, with the right filler. Sauces, soups and dairy products with pieces of fruit, vegetables or meat need a filling system with wider openings and gentle dosing, so pieces aren't crushed and don't block the filler or get caught in the seal. Thimonnier machines fill liquid and viscous foods with or without pieces.

Shelf life depends on hygiene during filling, the pouch film and any heat treatment. Ultra-clean and extended shelf life (ESL) machines reduce contamination during filling, aseptic machines fill sterile product into sterile packaging for long ambient shelf life, and barrier films such as EVOH protect against oxygen. Thimonnier offers ultra-clean, ESL and aseptic machine versions.
