Packaging Machinery FAQs

What VFFS bagging machines do you supply?

Proquip Solutions supplies new VFFS (vertical form-fill-seal) bagging machines in New Zealand, including Velteko and GKS machines. A VFFS machine forms bags from a roll of film, fills them and seals them, and suits snacks, fresh produce, frozen foods, powders and grains. We install, commission and service every machine from our Wiri workshop in Auckland. Contact our technical sales team to discuss your bag sizing, speed requirements and line integration needs.

Do you supply flow wrapping machines?

Yes. Proquip Solutions supplies flow wrapping machines in New Zealand. A flow wrapper wraps products horizontally in film, and suits bars, biscuits, bakery items and other solid products. We help match the wrapper to your product size, film type and output, and support it locally with parts and servicing.

What pouch and doypack filling machines do you offer?

Proquip Solutions supplies pouch and doypack filling machines in New Zealand, including Thimonnier pouch, sachet and spout-filling machines. Pouch fillers fill ready-made pouches such as stand-up and zipper doypacks, and suit premium retail products, liquids, sauces and powders.

What tray sealing machines do you offer?

Proquip Solutions supplies tray sealers, thermoformers and vacuum packaging machines in New Zealand, including Reepack machines for meat, poultry, seafood, fresh produce and ready meals. Options range from entry-level tray sealers to automatic and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) systems.

How do I choose the right bagging machine for food production?

Start with your product, not the machine's speed. How your product flows (powder, granules, fresh produce or fragile items) decides the filling system, such as a multihead weigher or auger filler. Then confirm your bag format, pack weight and the output you actually need, allowing time for cleaning and changeovers. The most reliable way to choose is a trial with your own product, which we offer at our Wiri workshop.

How can I reduce packaging costs on my production line?

The biggest savings usually come from reducing product giveaway with more accurate weighing, cutting film and packaging waste, shortening changeover and cleaning time, and automating manual packing. Matching the machine to your real output, rather than buying for maximum speed, also avoids paying for capacity you don't use. Used or rental equipment can lower the upfront cost.

Can I trial my product before buying a packaging machine?

Yes. Customers can bring their own product and packaging to our Wiri workshop in Auckland, or we can source it, and see the machine run before they commit. Trials show real output, weight accuracy, seal quality and changeover time with your product. To schedule a machine or packaging line trial for your product, get in touch through our contact form.

Do you offer used or rental packaging machinery?

Yes. As well as new machinery, we offer a range of used equipment ready to view, flexible rentals and machinery auctions, so you can compare options to suit your budget. Tell us about your production needs and we'll put together the right equipment option for you. Get in touch today.

Do you install and service packaging machines?

Yes. Our Auckland team handles installation, commissioning, operator training, spare parts and servicing across New Zealand, with ongoing maintenance available through our sister company Machinery Maintenance Plus.
