Discuss your productKRONEN vegetable washers use the HELICAL washing system, in which a spiral water flow carries the product through the wash tank. Both floating products, such as salad leaves, and sinking products, such as cut vegetables, are moved through gently and evenly washed, then lifted out on a vibration or belt outfeed so excess water drains away. The washers handle cut and whole products, from baby leaf and iceberg to vegetables, herbs and fruit. Proquip Solutions is the authorised New Zealand distributor for KRONEN.
Both washers handle up to 2,500 kg per hour and carry out the same jobs: pre-washing, washing, disinfection, mixing, treatment and rinsing. The HEWA 3800 is the newer development of the GEWA 3800 PLUS, redesigned around hygiene and faster cleaning. For processors with strict hygiene audits or retailer requirements, the HEWA 3800 is usually the better fit. See the GEWA 3800 PLUS and HEWA 3800.
Not sure which washer fits? sales@proquipx.com
Yes. Both the GEWA 3800 PLUS and HEWA 3800 carry out continuous pre-washing, washing, disinfection, mixing, treatment and rinsing in one machine. Doing these steps in a single continuous washer saves floor space and handling compared with separate tanks, and keeps product moving steadily through the line.
Leafy greens and field vegetables often arrive with soil, sand, small stones and insects that hand washing in tubs doesn't remove consistently. A continuous washer with a moving water flow keeps product separated so dirt and foreign bodies can fall away or be carried off, while the product moves on to the outfeed. Pre-washing before cutting, then washing again after, gives the cleanest result for fresh-cut salad.
Ask about washing your product: sales@proquipx.com
Very few. When a KRONEN washer is filled automatically as part of a processing line, it runs without dedicated operating staff. Compared with washing by hand in tubs, a continuous washer frees up staff for other parts of the line and gives a more consistent wash on every batch.

Washer design makes a big difference to cleaning time and hygiene. The KRONEN HEWA 3800 has no horizontal surfaces, so water drains away fully, its edges are designed to prevent biofilm forming, and it can be fully dismantled for thorough cleaning. These features reduce the risk of contamination and cross-contamination and support HACCP plans and food safety audits.

A continuous washer needs a fresh water supply, drainage, a suitable power supply and space for infeed and outfeed, including how product arrives, such as by conveyor or water bunker, and where it goes next, usually a dryer. If you use disinfection, you'll also need a way to dose and monitor the wash water. We'll check these requirements with you before installation, so the washer fits your line from day one.
