Discuss your productPreparation, such as coring cabbage and lettuce or removing pepper cores and seeds, sets up everything that follows. Products that are cored and divided consistently cut more evenly, wash more thoroughly and give higher yields, while hard cores left in damage cut quality and slow the line. A vegetable coring machine makes this step faster and more consistent than coring by hand. Proquip Solutions is the authorised New Zealand distributor for KRONEN.
It depends on your product. The KSB-2 cores up to 600 cabbages per hour, with variable drilling depth for different cabbage sizes, for coleslaw, sauerkraut and kimchi. The Multicorer cores and divides lettuce, cabbage and other products up to 240 mm in diameter, at up to 2,400 pieces per hour. The PDS4L cores and halves or quarters peppers of 75 to 120 mm, at up to 3,360 pieces per hour.

Coring and dividing by hand is one of the most labour-intensive jobs in vegetable preparation. KRONEN states that the PDS4L pepper coring machine reduces the staff needed in pepper preparation by 50 percent, and the Multicorer is loaded by a single operator at up to 2,400 pieces per hour. Tell us how many staff hours you currently spend on coring, and we'll help you estimate the saving.

Machine coring removes a consistent core every time, rather than the varying amount removed by hand, which protects yield. For peppers, the KRONEN PDS4L achieves a yield of up to 85 percent, depending on product quality and size. Higher, more predictable yield means more saleable product from every delivery of raw produce.
Yes. The Multicorer handles iceberg lettuce, other lettuce varieties, cabbage and peppers, using cutting cassettes that change without tools to suit different products and sizes, and it can divide products into two or four segments. The KSB-2 has variable drilling depth for different cabbage sizes. This flexibility suits processors who prepare several products across the year.
Coring machines separate the cores from the usable product, so waste can be collected and removed without slowing the line. The Multicorer can be fitted with a waste conveyor as well as a discharge conveyor for the cored product. Separated cores and trim are often collected for animal feed or composting, depending on your site.
