Discuss your productA commercial abrasive potato peeler spins potatoes or root vegetables on a rotating disc inside a drum lined with an abrasive surface. As the product tumbles against the abrasive, the skin is rubbed away and flushed out with water. Peeling time is set for the product, so skins are removed thinly without wasting the vegetable underneath. Proquip Solutions is the authorised New Zealand distributor for KRONEN commercial potato peelers.
The PL 25K is KRONEN's affordable entry-level peeler, with a capacity of up to 400 kg per hour, which suits kitchens, caterers and smaller processors. The PL 40K is built for small and medium-sized production, peeling potatoes, carrots, beetroot and other root vegetables with an abrasive that removes skins paper-thin. See the PL 25K and PL 40K.

Yes. Both KRONEN peelers can be converted into root vegetable washers by swapping the abrasive peeling surfaces for rubber-coated ones. On the PL 25K, the change takes under three minutes. This lets one machine handle both peeled products and washed, unpeeled products such as baby potatoes or carrots, which saves space and capital.
Most peeling waste comes from over-peeling, where good product is removed along with the skin. Setting the peeling time correctly for each product and batch size, using the right abrasive grade, and keeping the abrasive surfaces in good condition all help remove only the skin. Because yield is money, even a small reduction in peeling loss adds up quickly at commercial volumes.

An apple peeling and slicing machine peels, cores, splits or slices apples in one automatic cycle, for apple rings, slices, pies, fruit salads and dried apple products. The KRONEN AS 6 processes up to 900 apples per hour, and the operator only places each apple, which keeps hands away from blades. Unlike a home apple peeler and corer, it's built for continuous commercial use. See the KRONEN AS 6.

For most kitchens and processors, yes. Hand peeling is slow, uses skilled staff time and carries a risk of knife injuries, while results vary from person to person. A peeling machine handles the bulk work in minutes, with more consistent results and usually less product lost to over-peeling. Share how much you peel and how many staff hours it takes now, and we'll help you estimate the payback.

An abrasive peeler needs a water supply, good drainage and a way to handle the peel and starchy water, such as a floor drain, sieve or peel collector. It also needs a suitable power supply and enough space for loading and unloading. We'll check these requirements with you before installation, so the machine is ready to run from day one.
