Bag-in-box packaging for dry products places a sealed inner bag inside a printed carton, so the bag protects the product from moisture and air while the carton gives strength and shelf presence. It is common for cereals, muesli, powders, pet food and detergents. This is different from liquid bag-in-box, such as wine casks. Vertical cartoners fill cartons from the top, which suits loose, free-flowing products that can be dropped or dosed in. Horizontal cartoners push product into the carton from the side, which suits solid or pre-packed items such as bars, blister packs, bottles and trays. The right choice depends on how your product is presented before it goes into the carton.
