How it works

Closed-pipe vacuum transport — from production floor to collection point

Instead of forklifts and open containers, HYTT uses negative air pressure to pull waste through sealed stainless steel pipework — automatically, hygienically, and without disrupting your production floor.

1
Waste generated at production point
Organic waste — offcuts, trimmings, by-products — is produced at the processing line.
2
Hopper intake
Waste enters through a HYTT hopper inlet and feeds directly into the closed pipe system.
3
Vacuum unit draws waste through sealed pipe
Negative pressure pulls waste through stainless steel pipework with no open contact with the production area.
4
Central collection point
Waste arrives at a single controlled location elsewhere in the plant, ready for removal or valorisation as a sellable by-product.

System components

What makes up a HYTT system

Every installation is custom-engineered to your facility. These are the core components in any HYTT configuration.

Intake
Hopper Inlets

Stainless steel hoppers positioned at each waste generation point. Sized and configured to match the production line and waste type at each location.

Drive unit
Vacuum Unit

Generates the negative pressure that moves waste through the system. Optimised suction time and air inlet design keeps energy consumption low.

Transport line
Closed Stainless Pipe Network

Food-grade stainless steel pipework routed through walls and ceilings — fully sealed, custom-routed, and relocatable if the plant layout changes.

Control
PLC Control System

Fully automated PLC control with CE certification. Integrates vacuum and distribution components into one seamless, operator-friendly system.

Collection end
Distribution Screw System

A 3-screw U-shaped system that automatically fills multiple containers evenly. Containers swap without downtime or manual intervention.

FAQ

Common questions

What is a HYTT vacuum transport system?
A closed-pipe system that uses negative air pressure to move food waste and by-products from the production floor to a central collection point — through sealed stainless steel pipework, with no manual handling or open containers.
Is HYTT available in New Zealand?
Yes. The Proquip Solutions engineering team is able to scope a system tailored to meet your requirements. Contact us to start the conversation.
Can it be installed in an existing plant?
Yes. HYTT systems require no structural changes — pipework routes through existing walls and ceilings. If the plant layout changes, the system can be disassembled and relocated.
Can food waste become a sellable by-product?
Yes. Because waste is transported intact and hygienically, it retains commercial value. Facilities have converted waste streams into secondary products rather than sending them to disposal.
